While waiting to embark, there’s accommodation to suit every budget including the luxury hotels near the busy cruise ship terminal at Canada Place.

Where to Stay?

Several downtown hotels are within easy walking distance from Vancouver cruise port. The closest one is the Pan Pacific hotel.

Good value hotels are available in West End which has easy access to both the wild forests of Stanley Park and Robson Street that’s packed with sophisticated stores and restaurants.

Yaletown is famous for its vibrant nightlife while hotels near to the airport offer more tranquil surroundings. The historic area of the city is Gastown.

Most downtown hotels are well located for sightseeing, shopping, and dining. No matter where you book a hotel in the downtown area you will have restaurants within easy walking distance.

The most conventient hotels near Vancouver cruise port are those within walking distance, but most of these properties are not cheap. When looking for a more affordable hotel close to Canada Place, check the Days Inn by Wyndham.

There are no difficult slopes to negotiate as you follow the sidewalks, making the short walk of just a few minutes particularly easy if you have wheeled luggage. Even if you stay a bit further out, a walk of twenty to thirty minutes can be manageable but can be uncomfortable with luggage.

If your hotel isn’t walkable from the pier, it’s good to know Vancouver downtown hotels are a short 5 to 10 taxi min ride from the cruise terminal. Fair rate will be $5 to $15 depending on traffic. You can also opt for a hassle-free private transfer.

Why Stay near the airport ?

If you’re visiting Vancouver for a few days while waiting to join your cruise ship, a hotel near the airport is convenient and often less expensive when compared to similar establishments in the city.

Most of the hotels in the immediate area operate a free shuttle to and from the airport, and several offer free breakfast as well. It’s approximately 16 kilometers or 10 miles to Canada Place, but there is an efficient Skytrain service at the airport that takes you to Vancouver Canada Place cruise port.

From the airport take the Canada Line route. There are 13 stations on this route, starting with YVR airport. Get off at the final station “Waterfront” and then it’s just a few minutes walk to the terminal. The rate is approx. $8.00 CDN per person. Taxi is about a half hour drive and will cost around $36.00 CDN each way. You can also easily book a private transfer.
