Where to Stay?

Bari, thanks to its position in Southern Italy, on the Adriatic coast, has always been an important port for travelers exploring the country and Southern Europe. Numerous cruise ships depart from the Italian town, making it an ideal base, but there is much more to it than convenience.

Indeed, the capital of the Apulia region is teeming with historic buildings and churches, and boasts one of the best cuisines in the country. A short stay before or after your cruise holiday will allow you to discover what makes the city so magical, from the culture to the nightlife.

When deciding where to choose your accommodation in Bari Italy, you need to take a few things into account. Mostly, do you need to be really close to the port, for a late arrival or early departure of your cruise? Or can you afford a little time for transportation and explore further areas of the Italian city?

You will find hotels in different parts of town, most of which are ideal for short term and overnight stays. If you are looking for history and nightlife, Barivecchia is your best bet, as it offers the best of both worlds. For modernity, shopping and proximity to the sea, the Murat district is ideal.

Whether you have one night in town or a little more, as part of your cruise, ensure you head into town as the sun sets. Staying in one of the hotels located in the Old Town would be a wise choice, as they allow you to be in the middle of the action.

Whatever you decide, you’ll be able to travel around easily and make the most of your visit.
