River cruise ships dock in Gibitzenhof along the Hafenstrasse, which is approx. 4mi or 6.5km south of the city centre and the central train station. From the city center hotels you can take a taxi to Nuremberg-Hafen Ost, ships are located on Hafenstrasse.

Major cruise lines departing from the port are Avalon Waterways, Viking River Cruises, Riviera River Cruises and Uniworld.
Some vessels depart or arrive in nearby Erlangen (address Am Hafen 17), which is about 10 miles from Nuremberg Airport and 14 miles from the Nuremberg train station. Mainly ships from Viking River Cruises dock here, sailing to Budapest Hungary. Plenty of accommodation is located within Erlangen river cruise port.
City located on the river Pegnitz and Rhine–Main–Danube Canal

If your interest is in Germany’s more recent history, then visit the thought provoking Documentation Centre at the Reich Party Rally Grounds and Courtroom 600, the site of the Nuremberg trials. On a lighter note, children will enjoy a visit to the Dolphinarium in the Tiergarten.
When you are ready for a breather from exploring Nuremberg’s history and attractions, sample some of Germany’s dark beers and spicy sausage in the city’s beer cellars. Children will enjoy the tasty Lebkuchen, or gingerbread biscuits. Try some on the spot or have them gift-wrapped as a present.

Nuremberg International Airport (IATA : NUE) is the main international airport, called Flughafen Nürnberg in German. The airport is situated a few kilometres or miles north of the city centre.
The airport is well served by Intercity buses, shuttles and public transportation. The U2 subway line directly connects Nuremberg Airport with the central train station (12 minutes). Taxi’s are also available.
Erlangen is approx. 10 miles from the airport.
