River boats and steamboats from among American Cruise Lines and Viking River Cruises dock here, taking passengers on trips on the Mississippi River. Longer cruises sail upriver from New Orleans river cruise port to Memphis in Tennessee, the city of St. Louis in Missouri to finally St. Paul in Minnesota.
In the old days St. Paul’s Lower Landing was the city’s primary place for steamboat landings. Nowadays you can find plenty of open lawns, picnic tables and a biking and hiking trail.
