Where to Stay? Pier 11 Aloha Tower and Pier 2
Honululu is a tropical paradise located on the island of Oahu in the Pacific Ocean. The city’s fabulous weather, fantastic shopping, great dining, historic landmarks, natural beauty and world famous Waikiki Beach makes it a popular tourist destination.
Honolulu pre and post cruise hotels near the Aloha Tower cruise passenger terminal, or NCL Pier 2 include many great value hotels, affordable motels, condo’s, and more luxurious 4 and 5 star beachfront resorts. Stay close to the port, on Waikiki Beach or near the airport.
Most hotels are located in Honolulu’s Waikiki district or downtown. If you stay right on Waikiki Beach, than you’ll be able to walk right from your hotel to one of the world’s most famous beaches. Waikiki has a practically unlimited choice of hotels and resorts in every price range. Accommodation is located right on the beachfront, or within easy walking distance of the beach.
Downtown Honolulu is the commercial and financial heart of the city. Many historic landmarks, tourist attractions and the Ala Moana Shopping Center can be found in this area. Staying near the airport can be very convenient if you have an early or late flight. Several hotels near the airport offer free airport shuttle service. Waikiki and the city centre is a 20 minute drive away.
Honolulu hotels with shuttle to cruise port?
The majority of hotels in Honolulu does not offer a shuttle service but the port is only a short taxi or Uber ride from Waikiki hotels. Taxis will rank up at the major hotels and resorts.
A free trolley shuttle service (Waikiki Connection) is offered by Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort to various places such as the Honolulu Zoo, Waikiki Aquarium and Diamond Head Crater.
If you want to stay really close to the cruise port, and reduce transport cost, Aston at the Executive Centre Hotel is the nearest hotel from both Pier 2 (1 mile) and Pier 11 (0.3 mi, 7 min. walking) cruise terminals.

Aloha Tower and NCL Cruise Ship Terminal
Cruise ships dock right in the heart of the city adjacent to Aloha Tower Marketplace at Pier 10-12.
Norwegian Cruise Line’s Pride of America ship departs from Pier 2, which is about a quarter mile south of the Aloha Tower marketplace.
Cruises will take you to various Hawaiian Islands, Polynesia (Tahiti, Bora Bora) and West Coast of the United States. Some cruise lines depart at the US West Coast in Los Angeles, Port of Long Beach, Port of San Diego or San Francisco California. Some longer voyages will take you to New Zealand or Australia (port of Sydney).
Year-round cruises from the Port of Honululu are offered by Norwegian Cruise Line’s ship Pride of America, sailing every week to four Hawaii islands (Ports of Call: Honolulu, Maui (Kahului), Hilo, Kona, Kauai). Transpacific itineraries are offered by Royal Caribbean International (RCL), Princess and Celebrity Cruises.

Pier 2 is located 5 miles from the airport, approximately 10 minutes. (Depending on traffic conditions.)
It’s about 3,5 miles from the port to central Waikiki Beach, which is a 5 to 10 minutes cab ride.
Nearest airport – How to get to Downtown and Pier
The airport is called Honolulu International Airport HNL, located approximately 5 miles are 8 km from the port. Waikiki is approximately 9 miles or 14 km from the airport.
You can easily reach the port, downtown and Waikiki Beach by taxi or shuttle. Taxis are available and cost approximately $25-30. (Rates are subject to change.) There are plenty of cabs at the airport.

Directions From Honolulu International Airport (HNL):
1. Going East on Aolele St. toward Aolewa Pl. turn left onto Lagoon Dr. Lagoon Dr becomes Puuloa Rd.
2. Turn right onto HI-92/N Nimitz Hwy. Continue to follow HI-92/N Nimitz Hwy.
3. Turn right onto Fort Street. Fort Street becomes Aloha Tower Dr.
Pier 2 is located about a quarter mile south of Aloha Tower Marketplace.

Visit the Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum, home of the largest collection of Hawaiian and Pacific artifacts in the World. Nearby is Pearl Harbor and the USS Arizona Memorial site, where you will have a good sense of the tragic bombing of Pearl Harbor. Don’t miss seeing the Iolani Palace, a National Historic Landmark in downtown Honolulu built in 1882 by Hawaii’s last king Kalakaua. Perfect for families is a day out to Waikiki Aquarium.
The most famous area in Honolulu is Waikiki. It’s a popular district home of stunning Waikiki Beach. This famous stretch of sand is the place to be for canoeing, surfing, snorkeling and other water sports. Nearby Kalakaua Ave and Kuhio Avenue is the city’s main centre for shopping and nightlife.
Honolulu is surrounded by gorgeous scenery. Tropical rainforests with picturesque waterfalls, emerald valleys, white sandy beaches and first class golf courses. For a panoramic view of the city take a 45 minute hike at the Diamond Head State Monument, a crater of an extinct volcano. Beyond the city is Nuʻuanu Pali offering a panoramic view of the windward (northeast) coast of Oahu. The North Shore is known for its excellent surfing beaches.
