Take a dog sledge trip or snowmobile tour across a frozen fjord, or set sail on a king crab safari. Experience the wonderful nature of the region by taking a lovely boat trip along the Pasvik River to the Russian border. Remarkable is the snow hotel where everything is made of snow. It’s a real hotel where sofas and ice beds are covered with reindeer skins.
Kikernes offers also great shopping opportunities. Shop for local crafts made from reindeer skin, winter clothes or skiing accessories. Norway’s capital city is Oslo where plenty of hotels are located within easy reach of the port as well.

Visit the Grenselandsmuseet or The Border County Museum, telling you the story about the Sami people who inhabit this border region.
Thers are also exhibits about World War II and a collection of artwork from John Savio, a Sami artist from the region. Nearby you can take a tour of the Andersgrotta, a vast underground bunker built during World War II which provided shelter to the town’s residents.
